Why are they called "flip-flops"?
- Because of thin layer of rubber, when your feet touch the
shoe and when the shoe touches the floor it makes an unusual 'Flip Flop' sound.
That is why.
How old are flip-flops? -
Experts believe Flip Flops have around for at least 6,000 years!
Does everyone around the world call them "flip-flops"?
No. In NZ they call them Jandals (short for Japanese Sandals)
There called Thongs in Australia and then there Plakkies in South Africa.
